This camera is in incredibly pristine condition (the best I've seen) and it is fully functional. It was the founder of the shop's personal camera and used periodically for the past two years (very lightly and carefully). The lens mount is in perfect shape and the titanium body is free of scratches and damage. All knobs, levers, dials, and switches actuate with precision, and the LCD display is fully functional.
Shutter speeds are accurate. The metering system and auto-exposure mode work perfectly, and the auto-focus system is fast and accurate.
The lens is in perfect condition as well. The lens elements are free of dust, debris, scratches, haze, and fungus. The optical coatings are in perfect condition. The aperture ring clicks into its detents with mechanical precision, and the aperture blades are snappy and oil free.
The Contax G2 is an incredibly high-quality rangefinder camera with autofocus and autoexposure, something its competition often lacks. The titanium body is extremely strong and robust. The G mount system Carl Zeiss lenses are some of the best optics in the vintage camera world, and the 45mm Planar in particular is often rated as one of the sharpest, highest resolution lenses in the world. The brand's amazing T-star coatings are the best in the world at mitigating optical aberrations and producing exceptional color rendition and contrast.
